About the course
The club was founded in 1904. Its 18-hole course with par 67 is a typical parkland course with at times very hilly fairways. The club calls itself “the best kept secret of the Highlands.” But the “golf secret” really is a special place. The course is situated in beautiful surroundings: In the north, one can see the majestic hilly landscape of the Scottish Highlands; in the south, the Cromarty Firth, the wide estuary on the northern coast of Moray Firth. The course at Alness Golf Club is not very long at only 4,583 meters, but it holds fun and challenges for experienced and beginning golfers. The fairways are narrow and the greens are protected by well-placed bunkers. Those interested can improve their handicap at the on-site golf school with the help of a professional golf instructor. A well-stocked golf store is also on-site. Guests are welcome at the Alness Golf Club all year round with its open and friendly atmosphere. The club restaurant serves as a popular meeting point. Even the small town of Alness is worth a visit. It has already won the prize “Britain in Bloom” and “Scotland in Bloom” several times for its well-maintained gardens and park areas. From Inverness, the most northern city in Great Britain, the club can be reached in a just a few minutes by car.
